How to Wash an Organic Cotton Mattress Protector
With waterproof protectors, laundry instructions protect both the cotton textile and the membrane.
Before first use
Some organic cotton protectors are intentionally oversized for shrinkage. Sleep & Beyond specifically recommends washing before first use.
Sleep & Beyond care
Its current instructions specify warm water, gentle cycle, gentle biodegradable detergent, non-chlorine bleach if needed, low-heat tumble drying, prompt removal and no ironing.
Why heat matters
Waterproof laminates may be more heat-sensitive than plain cotton. Do not wash a cotton-faced protector as if it were a towel.
Dry fully
Never put a damp protector back onto the mattress.
